Wiener Schneckenmanufaktur

In 2008, Andreas Gugumuck, a former commercial computer specialist and project manager, founded the Wiener Schneckenmanufaktur in Rothneusiedl, where he has been breeding edible snails in permaculture ever since. At the end of September Gugumuck is opening a new snail factory with shop and farmyard bistro on his farm on the outskirts of Vienna. Surrounded by fields and meadows, visitors enter into a world that has slowed down – slow food as a holistic concept of life. With his visionary ideas for healthy and ethically acceptable food, Andreas Gugumuck joins the ranks of the future food pioneers in Austria.
As such, he works with his team in trying out sustainable agricultural concepts for the urban environment.
