Virgil Widrich

Virgil Widrich was born in 1967 in Salzburg and works in many film and multimedia productions. He is one of the founders and managing directors of the multimedia production firm checkpointmedia, university professor of Art & Science at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, and owner and CEO of Virgil Widrich Film- und Multimediaproduktion. Widrich’s first cinema film was “Brighter than the Moon” (2000), his short film “Copy Shop” won 37 international prizes and was nominated for the Oscar. “Fast Film” premiered in Cannes in 2003 and until now has won 36 film awards. His latest film is “Night of a 1000 Hours” (2016). Virgil Widrich lives in Vienna.
