The Vienna-based VELLO produces high-performance, ultra-light folding bikes with and without electric motors, which have been specifically designed for moving around cities and are notable for their specially developed, patented folding mechanism: In just a few seconds, a bike can be folded together, ready to be carried in public transport, car, or plane or stowed away at home or in the office. VELLO’s bikes are available in a range of models for different cycling styles and, depending upon the model, can be equipped with high-quality city bike, trekking bike, or racing bike components. They have received the Red Dot Award (2015), the European Product Design Award (2017), the Good Design Award (2018), the Austrian State Prize for Design (2019), and the Federal German Ecodesign Award (2019).
