Tracing Spaces

Tracing Spaces, which was founded in 2012 by Michael Hieslmair and Michael Zinganel, conceives, designs, and produces research projects and artistic interventions in the public realm as well as exhibitions, publications, and communication formats on subjects from the fields of architecture, urban research, and mobility. Moving vehicles, live mapping, and interviews generate forms of knowledge that are translated into three-dimensional cartographies with soundtracks, comics, or graphic novels, and communicate both macro- and micro-political perspectives. Since 2015, Tracing Spaces has run a project space at the Vienna Northwest Station where, integrated into the social milieu of the logistics landscape, it is creating a multilayered, multimedia cartography of the migration and mobility experiences of all who are active there.
