Saddo

The stylistic, technical, and thematic repertoire of the Romanian contemporary artist Saddo finds expression both on canvas in the form of large-scale wall paintings as well as illustrations commissioned for various projects and brands. His works reveal a leaning towards Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Hieronymus Bosch, Walton Ford, Henri Matisse, Iranian miniatures, Asian carpets, and so forth, combined with elements of street art and the decorative arts. Saddo’s range of motifs covers surrealist symbolism, black iconography, various myths, and religions all the way to portraits of rappers and musicians, birds, and convoluted floral ornaments.
