Oscar Wanless
Experimentelles Design
Oscar Wanless was born in Bristol, UK, 1979. Growing up with a workshop at home cemented his love of making and things at an early age. After studying Design at the University of Brighton, he moved to London to pursue a career in design. At the same time he co-founded the social games company “Lost and Found”, which continues to tailor unusual experiences at events and festivals. Oscar graduated with an MA in Design Products from the RCA in 2011 and with Attua Aparicio formed Silo – a design studio focused on experimentation with industrial methods and materials. His time is spent working in the studio getting his hands dirty, finding new ways of making things, presenting materials in a new way and discovering possibilities that the production line does not see. This practice spans jewellery, product, furniture and architecture showing work in Museums and Galleries internationally. Clients include Bloomberg, The Design Museum London, Fiorucci Art Trust, Hay, The Victoria and Albert Museum, Vlisco and Wallpaper Magazine.
