Orlando Lovell

Through her work, the designer Orlando Lovell (1993) addresses new forms of collaborative working and challenges the use of design jargon in education. Throughout her studies at Central Saint Martins (UK), Design Academy Eindhoven (NL) and the Institute of Postindustrial Design Basel (CH), she has frequently worked with cake, using it as a medium for social exchange and connection in exhibition contexts, workshop formats or more conceptual formats. Orlando's curatorial work includes assisting Collective1992 at Palais de Tokyo, co-producing DAE's #TVClerici show for Salone del Mobile and assisting Matylda Krzykowski at Depot Basel. She is currently the communications manager of the Dutch Institute of Food and Design and has recently formed the new intergenerational studio, studio_lovell, together with her mother, the author and criticer Sophie Lovell.
