Oliver-Selim Boualam

Oliver-Selim Boualam lives and works as an artist and designer in Karlsruhe. His participative sculptures and experimental objects constantly search out the humor of the unexpected in everyday routines. His designs, which involve a range of materials – from wood and steel to textiles and ceramics –, invariably contain a social and playful component. Boualam is part of the design duo BNAG and belongs to the FAN Kollektiv and FARM Group.

In 2024, Oliver-Selim Boualam was jointly responsible for the art direction and scenography of the “House of Switzerland” in the Casa degli Artisti in Milan. Boualam’s previous works have been principally presented in the USA and Germany and have featured, for example, in exhibitions in der Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg, ZKM in Karlsruhe, and the Vitra Design Museum as well as in art biennales such as documenta fifteen and Design Miami.
