Österreichische Friedrich und Lillian Kiesler-Privatstiftung

The Austrian Frederick and Lillian Kiesler Private Foundation was established in Vienna in
1997 following the acquisition of the estate of Frederick Kiesler (1890–1965). Its role is to
research the work of the architect, artist, set designer, designer, and theorist and to mobilize
this work in the interests of current architectural and artistic production. Kiesler is
particularly significant due to his trans-, cross-, and interdisciplinary understanding of the
creative process. His artistic work is based on the idea of the interaction between
architecture, theater, design, the fine arts, and science. This resulted in a visionary oeuvre
full of artistic innovation, which influenced both his contemporaries and coming
generations.
