MAK – Museum für angewandte Kunst

The MAK is a museum and a discursive venue for the applied arts at the interface between design, architecture, and contemporary art. The MAK addresses the future by investigating socially and politically relevant issues from the perspectives and using the approaches of contemporary and applied arts, design, and architecture. The MAK works tirelessly to secure the appropriate recognition for and positioning of the applied arts. It pursues new approaches to its extensive collection, which encompasses a wide range of epochs, materials, and artistic disciplines, and develops these approaches into compelling new perspectives.
