Lavinia Hausner und Christian Lutz
Lavinia Hausner and Christian Lutz studied design, crafts, and material culture at the New Design University (NDU) St. Pölten, where they completed their degrees in 2017. While Lavinia Hausner chose a career in metalworking, Christian Lutz specialized in woodwork. The dual training between crafts and product design plays a central role in the design process, both in design and in the making. Lavinia Hausner and Christian Lutz live and work in Vienna and Baden. The designer Lavinia Hausner sees the key aspect of her works on one hand in exceptional materials with particular attention to their surfaces, and on the other in the language of forms seen in nature. Her projects are poised between design and art. The designer Christian Lutz combines art-historical theory and handcrafted implementation in his designs. The fascination for solid wood and its exceptional qualities aroused his interest in furniture design in the private and public space.
