raum&designstrategien is a discipline of studies which is still in its infancy in this form in Europe at the interfaces of design, architecture, art and digital media, at the Kunstuniversität/ University of Arts and Industrial Design Linz, Austria. The course of study deals with spatially oriented, thematically focused research and in-depth knowledge of material and execution techniques. Phenomena are analysed, defined and produced in the real and also in the virtual space. The goal of studies is to attain high-level, individual flexibility and solution strategies in the radically changing art and architecture scene and the creative industries, meanwhile linking this with in-depth knowledge of both digital and material-related processing techniques. Already during the course of study, cooperative projects with the public authorities and free industry support the development of applications throughout the full spectrum of potential usage.
