Klára Šumová

Klára Šumová is an independent product and interior designer based in the Czech Republic. During her studies at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, she was one of the most visible artists to enrich the contemporary design scene with her original views on product design. She has worked and studied in Canada, the Netherlands and Hungary, providing research experiences that continue to inform her process. Klára collaborates regularly with galleries, such as Prague-based Křehký, for which she produces limited editions. Recent commissions include window designs for Hermés and Pietro Fillipi, contributions to lifestyle magazines, and curating exhibitions. Her interests are primarily in raw materials and human nature, and how the intimate relationships between them take physical form.
