Glashütte Comploj

Robert Comploj, born in Tyrol in 1982, is an internationally renowned glassblower. He combines old Venetian techniques and modern Scandinavian forms and colors to create distinctive glass items: a symbiosis of an almost forgotten craft and vibrant design of the present. Small series and one-offs are made, handblown and shaped by hand. At Glashütte Comploj, which is both workshop and studio, Comploj has created a space in Vienna’s 7th district where glass art can be seen and experienced. In his courses, the craftsman passes on his knowledge to interested students. Comploj’s works have received a number of awards and can be seen in galleries in New York, London, and Berlin.
