Future Problems Architecture Studio
Future Problems Architecture Studio addresses the issue of how to live together on a planet with finite resources and combines circular building strategies with architectural measures at a time of climate crisis. While Julian Raffetseder researches constructional adaptation in a future subtropical Vienna in his role as a doctoral assistant at the Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio, the architect Klara Jörg of baubüro in situ focuses on working with existing built substance and the reuse of building components. The interest of the duo in organic-based building materials and their investigation of spaces for new, climate-compatible forms of life are reflected in, among other things, their contribution “Feldstadt am Heidjöchl” for Vienna (with Elisabeth Ableidinger), which received an honorable mention at Europan17. As a continuation of this work, the project WIENER KLIMAHÖFE at the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK 2024 introduces this subject to dense late-19th century Vienna and explores the adaptation of the city to the climate of the future.
