Diagonale – Festival des österreichischen Films

The Diagonale is the name of the Austrian Film Festival. With the Mediterranean elegance of the Styrian capital of Graz as backdrop, the festival aims to cultivate its image as arena for a sophisticated, critical, and pleasurable presentation of Austrian cinema. The Diagonale selects a program each spring to provide an opportunity for people to get to know Austrian filmmaking in all its facets, to trace current artistic trends, and so stumble onto filmic (re-)discoveries.
The film and media branch is in a state of constant change, thus interdisciplinary cooperation is imperative. With its partners, the Diagonale ventures to look beyond the horizon, initiates dialogues, and awakens curiosity – for Austrian film and beyond.
