Beate von Harten’s textile atelier has focused its work since 1984 on the past life of textiles, restoring and conservating precious objects such as tapestries, carpets, kilims, embroidery, etc. Private and public commissions bring with them the challenge of an intensive confrontation with each object. This attention trains and empowers the studio to look into the future and use this knowledge to create textiles, too, which are designed and made individually for users – in the centre of Vienna, fair and without price gap.
