Since 2012, the Studio for Furniture Design and Prototypes is a crucial part of the architectural education at the Technical University of Graz. Students learn techniques and practical skills in furniture and spatial design by developing a full-scale project. Know-how in material performance and design process is provided by the seminars and lectures of the institute of spatial design. The approach shows how furniture and space, design and architecture are linked together. Students improve their understanding of the context between those disciplines by acquiring knowledge about design concepts and the practical constraints.
