Dear friends of the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK,
We are already in the midst of preparations for the upcoming festival edition. Our regular newsletters will keep you up to date on our annual programme and the opportunities to participate in VIENNA DESIGN WEEK 2024.
We have already achieved a lot in the first quarter: inspired by last year's focus district, we moved our office to Leopoldstadt without further ado. Several events will also take place here over the course of the year. Why don't you drop by?
The first two OPEN CALLS are looking for contributions for the festival in autumn: URBAN FOOD & DESIGN PRACTICE and PLATFORM - more information on these further down in the newsletter and on our website.
We are delighted to welcome two new colleagues to the team: Alma Fiala, who joined us last year as an intern, is now a permanent member and will be in charge of PLATFORM, RE:FORM and much more. You will certainly be hearing a lot from her! We are also delighted to welcome back our valued colleague Hanna Facchinelli who will be in charge of the Stadtarbeit format this year. Welcome to the team, both of you!

URBAN FOOD & DESIGN PRACTICE: CITY AS A RESOURCE
The Vienna Business Agency and VIENNA DESIGN WEEK are jointly announcing an Urban Food & Design Practice that builds a bridge between Biofabrique Vienna, which is taking place as part of the first Vienna Climate Biennale (5 April–14 July 2024), and the 18th VIENNA DESIGN WEEK (20–29 September 2024).
We are looking for design solutions - concepts for objects for daily use - for the lounge and hospitality area of the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK festival centre, which are to be implemented using sustainable materials from Biofabrique. Read more...
PLATFORM: JOIN AND SHAPE THE FESTIVAL
Would you like to be part of the festival? Then now is exactly the right time to get in touch with us! PLATFORM brings together content from a wide variety of players - from design studios, architecture firms, large and small companies, but also cultural institutions, universities, museums, international and national - and communicates it to the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK audience. It is precisely this diversity of different design content that PLATFORM wants to discover and present.

Dream team Laura Houseley (curator and author) and Bueronardin (graphics) have created a wonderful review of last year's edition of the FOKUS group exhibition at the Festival Headquarter. If you'd like a copy, write to us and we'll send you one.
VIENNA DESIGN WEEK ON THE ROAD!
To gather inspiration, meet people and network, the team travels to various design events in Europe every year. So far this year, the programme includes the Madrid Design Festival, Collectible Brussels, Salone del Mobile and Dutch Design Week.
