Scandinavian Design and Austrian Elegance
Of lesser surprise was the omnipresence of Claesson Koivisto Rune on the fair, not only that you constantly bump into them, but also with a wide range of new products for Offecct or Swedese. But also Mark Braun was there, or at least a very nice lamp he designed a couple of years ago, and which is now in production at Northern Lighting, a norwegian company. In the city Claesson Koivisto Rune were no lesser present and to our own joy and pride also with "Vindobona", produced by Lobmeyr and the Wiener Silber Manufactur. No wonder, that both Leonid Rath of Lobmeyr and Reinhard Söbbing of the Wiener Silber Manufactur were to be seen with very happy faces. Leonid even two times, since Mark Braun was invited to a truly great exhibition and location: 20 Designers at Biologiska, translated this meant 20 designers were exhibiting in a very strange and wonderful building – the biological museum of Stockholm, a wooden building imitating a Norwegian stave church. It was opened in the late 19th century and has a wonderful setting of dioramas. This in combination with the lighting, a double wooden spiral stair and design objects amongst the stuffed animals added up to the most special and surreal staging of a design exhibition.
