Postler Ferguson at the Vienna Design Week 2011
PostlerFerguson was founded in 2007 in London by the American Ian Ferguson and the German Martin Postler. The Duo is describing itself as a multidisciplinary design consultancy which deals with the aspects of culture, techniques and economics through modern design strategies. Their approach is very systematic, nearly scientific, what leads to constantly new questions and challenges.
Lately at the Belgrad Design Week they presented their conceptual packaging system 'Brotzeit', which should improve the quality of airline meals. That's a very important topic for PostlerFerguson, because for them sustainability starts with quality. Since some time PostlerFerguson are in cooperation with the Victoria & Albert Museum London, where they will take part in the 'Power of Making' exhibition until the end of 2011. Reason for that was their temporary installation 'Wunderboxes' for the entrance hall of the museum. 'Wunderboxes' consisted of different, orange lightened cardboxes, displaying a variety of three dimensional models to create an abstract but strangely familiar collection of 'things'.
At the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK 2011 PostlerFerguson will create a temporary coffehouse, 'Café Sonja', in the second district which will be the local designer meetingpoint besides Cafe Drechsler.
