New Cooperation of the MAK and the University of Applied Arts

As a new cooperation of the MAK and the University of Applied Arts, Vienna, an exhibition series will be launched that presents works by graduates from the university in a museum setting. Under the motto of “Applied Art Today” three solo exhibitions are scheduled each year.

The first exhibition is dedicated to the designer Patrick Rampelotto. Rampelotto was born in Sterzing, Italy, studied jurisprudence at Leopold-Franzens-Universität, Innsbruck and in 1999 he moved on to the University of Applied Arts, Vienna, to study Industrial Design with Borek Sipek. During the course of his studies he developed the jewel box Plic which has been inventoried in the university’s study collection. After his graduation with Ross Lovegrove Patrick Rampelotto started work for EOOS Design in Vienna. Since 2009 he works as a free-lance designer for shop and furniture design, as well as fashion accessories.
