Festival Opening & First Awards

VIENNA CALLING! Sparkling chandeliers, crowded state rooms – design enthusiasts came to join yesterday's opening of VIENNA DESIGN WEEK at Palais Schwarzenberg.

On the occassion of the festival's opening the "outstanding artis award," donated by the Federal Chancellery, as well as the Nespresso Design Scholarship, were given to the fortunate winners. The "outstanding artist award" went to the desgin studio BLESS for their project "Melodized Pillow Hammock." Recognition awards were given to Katharina Unger for "Fran 432", breadedEscalope for “LOVE ME BENDER” and Torggler Klemens for "Evolution Door". All projects are on display in the festival centre.

The Nespresso Design Scholarship went to the Austro-Polish design-duo Chmara.Rosinke.
