Exhibition on "Passionwege" in Helsinki
WerkStadt Vienna. Design Engaging the City
from Sep 6 to 16, 2012 at World Design Capital Helsinki
The exhibition project of the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK in cooperation with the MAK –Austrian Museum of Applied Arts / Contemporary Art shows the collaboration of young international designers with traditional Viennese companies and workshops based on the "Passionswege. This programme format of the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK allows experimental projects between designers and companies in Vienna since 2006.
The exhibition highlights the diversity and sustainability of these projects and is curated by Sophie Lovell. Studio Makkink & Bey are responsible for the exhibition design, Hansje van Halem responsible for the graphics. With works by by Tomás Alonso, Mark Brown, Marco Dessí, Philippe Malouin, Max Lamb, mischer'traxler, Adrien Rovero and Maxim Velčovsk, who met traditional companies such as J. & L. Lobmeyr, the Viennese Porcelain Manufactury Augarten and the Viennese Silver Manufactury.
After Helsinki, "WerkStadt Vienna" will be shown at the MAK starting on December 12.
