And the winner is... Studio Formafantasma!

The Winners of the souvenir contest "European Home Run" by the Vienna Tourist Board have been chosen!

Simone Farresin and Andrea Trimarchi from Studio Formafantasma win with their souvenir "Vienna Playing Cards" the design contest "European Home Run", that was curated by Lilli Hollein. Héctor Serrano with his "Pop-up Vienna" emerged as the winner of the public vote. Both souvenirs go into production.

Millions of people visit Vienna every year. Many of them want to take a piece of the city on the Danube home with them. A representation of everything that makes Vienna so very special. Its Imperial charm, of course – but also the new, young and creative flair of the city.

What form should a quintessentially Viennese souvenir for the 21st century take? In all, teams of designers from six different European countries went in search of answers to this question before submitting their final designs for the Vienna Tourist Board's European Home Run competition. On October 24, 2012 the competition winner was revealed alongside the winner of the public vote, at the tourism conference hosted by the Vienna Tourist Board at the Museum of Applied Arts/Contemporary Art (MAK). The goal of the competition is to arrive at various interpretations of the souvenir that embody the contemporary face of Vienna as a creative city, with vast potential and proud achievements in the field of design.
