MAK-IT! EXTENDED – RESULTS OF THE FURNITURE MAKING WORKSHOP WITH YVES EBNÖTHER
MAK – Museum für angewandte Kunst
20.9.2024, 4pm
On the weekend of the 13. to 15.9., the MAK’s former joinery shop hosts its first do-it-yourself furniture making workshop. Together with the Swiss designer Yves Ebnöther, participants investigate the conceptual and aesthetic possibilities offered by computer-controlled production processes for furniture. The results of the workshop are being shown as part of the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK. The presentation during the festival offers an opportunity to chat with Yves Ebnöther about the interplay between found materials and digital precision.
During the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK, the two exhibitions ELEMENTS – ADAM ŠTĚCH’S PERSPECTIVE ON ARCHITECTURAL DETAILS and AUT NOW – 100 × AUSTRIAN DESIGN FOR THE 21ST CENTURY can be seen at the MAK. To accompany the exhibition ELEMENTS, a talk with the architectural historian and researcher takes place on 21.9. On 24.9., the MAK Design Nite can be visited free of charge.
