Created at the invitation of the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK, ROOM NR. 66 is a spatial concept that the Vienna-based artist and designer Laura Geraldine Gaar has precisely tailored for the Festival Headquarters in the Prater. In this case, the hotel room has been transformed into a very special experience, in that it has literally been clothed: The project focuses on prints, textile images, and patterns, but also on recycling as a process that assigns new material identities to the objects in the former hotel room. Art and design are woven together into an impressive holistic production that invites visitors to linger awhile.
