From materials normally used in construction, Thomas Waidhofer designs three-winged room dividers. On the occasion of the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK, he restages one of them: a light installation, made of lashing straps and neon tubes, alienates the construction fence as an urban object and turns it into a piece of furniture, a PARA-SITE (a word combination of "Paravent" and "Construction Site"). Primarily intended as a temporary separation in public spaces, the construction fence has also served as a medium for posters and advertising since time immemorial. Sujets by several creatives from the Forward Network will now be staged in the festival headquarters in the Prater in the style of calendars, from which visitors can tear off their favorite motif and take it with them.
