As a ceramist, Maximilian Hissek repeatedly comes into contact with the concept of kitsch. In his works, Hissek deliberately references the elements that constitute kitsch, thereby challenging them again and again. With his latest ceramic objects, he manages a balancing act between kitsch and utility. The functionality stems from nature, whilst the kitsch finds its origin in the reproduction of objects and colors. What emerges is a space between design and home decor, which Hissek occupies with his works. All kitsch!
