The Collegium Hungaricum in Vienna presents a selection of work from the exhibition DESIGN WITHOUT BORDERS, which has been taking place annually in Budapest since 2004. Visitors can see the work of more than 70 furniture, textile, glass, and jewelry designers from 14 countries, all of whom investigate the interaction between regions, genres, subjects, and sectors. The series is organized by Unikát Összművészeti Stúdió and is one of Hungary’s most important art and design exhibitions. Tours guided by the founding curatorial team, Szilvia Szigeti and Tamás Radnóti, take place daily between 5pm and 7pm.

Cocktail with dance performance: Mon 25.9., 5pm–7pm
For 15 years, dance artist, educator, and choreographer Rita Góbi and her ensemble have been the face of the exhibition series. During the cocktail with speeches by Márton Méhes (Collegium Hungaricum) and Reinhard Backhausen (Textile and Circular Consulting), Góbi – accompanied by a drum solo by Dávid Szegő – brings the exhibited objects to life in a dance performance.
Talk with samples “Traces of actions – Why cook?“: Wed 27.9., 5pm
In his lecture accompanied by culinary samples, the Germany-based artist Arpad Dobriban reflects upon the cultural techniques of cooking.
