Get the right end of the (wooden) stick! Hello Wood is an international summer school and festival in Zalahaláp in Hungary. This year’s edition, which took place in July in cooperation with the European Capital of Culture – Veszprém-Balaton 2023, was a low-threshold community event that placed great emphasis on the philosophy of learning by doing. Fully in the spirit of democratic interaction, it brought together a range of generations, designers, and artists and encouraged discussion and innovation. This year’s event focused on the relationship between people, the environment, and the future in the context of the local ecological reality. Selected output can be seen in the form of an installation in the Festival Headquarters of the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK. In this spirit: Hello in Vienna, Hello Wood!
