Participants in this tour explore, question, and discuss the highlights of the Festival Headquarters in Mariahilf. This year, these can be concisely referred to as 3-G: GASSE, GEWÖLBE, and GSTÄTTN. The district is home to many discreet examples of extraordinary architecture that are offering platforms for all kinds of objects, projects, bars, workshops, talks, and shows during the festival. And these raise many questions – such as: How designed is our daily life? What has design got to do with food, sustainability, or even the digital age? For whom is the city really designed — or not? And what is art education anyway? The two education specialists of the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK invite participants to consider and answer these questions in front of and behind the scenes of the festival.
