The processor of and trader in natural stone has been working with well-known architects and designers on its series of products “Objects by Breitwieser” since 2021. The fascination of the designers of Lucy.D with the haptic qualities of this stone was the starting point for their creation of the knife block “SHILOH” and the nutcracker “KNOX”. The latter is notable for its primeval wedge-like form and simple operation. The rubber band can even be understood as a variation on a catapult: Pull back and crack those nuts! The archaic knife block is also a minimalist eyecatcher and draws attention to the varying patterns and the weight of the stone. In doing so, “SHILOH” recalls the legend of King Arthur: Whoever succeeds in pulling the sword Excalibur from the stone is the new rightful king or queen of England …
