Stiege13

25.9.–3.10.2021

Stiege 13 presents the artist collective EY, which is based on the common interest in dystopian fantasies. An essential part of its artistic exploration is the topos of destruction. EY’s first series, “Volume 1”, was created between 2018 and 2019. It is dedicated and brings together post-apocalyptic landscapes completely devoid of humans – an artistic dialog between destruction and extinction. The new series of works “Volume 2” was created in 2021 and, thus, “one pandemic later”. This moves away from the representation of landscape motifs and sheds light on post-apocalyptic longing on the basis of human inner and outer worlds. The name EY is derived from the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajökull, which paralyzed Europe’s air by a cloud of uncertainty during its last eruption in 2010 and briefly de-civilized its airspace.

The exhibition runs until 10.10.
