EOOS NEXT

24.9.–3.10.2021

The social business EOOS NEXT, which was founded in 2020, presents a portable, do-it-yourself slow cooker that can be simply and cheaply made at home. Slow cookers have been used for preparing food for centuries. They function in line with the principle of heat absorption: Food is heated for several minutes and then remains in the insulated slow cooker until it is cooked to perfection. The advantages of this method are the gentle preparation and the long drawn-out cooking process, which saves a considerable amount of energy. The slow cooker – a sewn bag – is on show in the Festival Headquarters, together with a video of the manufacturing process. Sewing instructions are also available, which visitors can take away in order to either sew their own bag or commission one from a tailor. In addition to this, a pre-cooked dish will be delivered every day or prepared in situ. A timer shows when the dish is fully cooked and ready to be tasted by the visitors. The dish of the day and the precise time at which it can be sampled will be updated daily on social media by EOOS NEXT. eoosnext.com

On both weekends of the festival, EOOS NEXT offers workshops at which registered visitors will learn how to make bags for pans that they have brought – and, hence, their own portable do-it-yourself slow cooker.

On both weekends of the festival, a session at which leftovers will be cooked is being organized, together with local restaurateurs, in the courtyard of the Festival Headquarters. While the dishes are slowly cooking there will be enough time to visit the exhibitions in the Festival Headquarters on Sachsenplatz. The session will be rounded off by a communal meal.
