EAT LOVE – TOMORROW’S FOOD AND FOOD SPACES

uttnext (urbanthinktank_next)

1.–3.10.2021

A camping trip? Far from it. An adventure? For sure! The nomadic agora spent three days and nights in front of the Festival Headquarters on Sachsenplatz, inviting visitors to take an imaginary journey through another Vienna in the form of workshops, talks, livestreams, and other events. The project was developed in cooperation with the architectural studio Mostlikely, which temporarily transferred its office to the studio mobil / think tank station, where it offered insights into its wide range of activities. Rumors have it that people had even spent the night in this base camp next to Sachsenpark. This is probably true – but it could also be an urban (Food & Design) legend. Regardless of this, there is no doubt about the legendary status of the food produced by the field kitchen of Cucina Alchimia: specialties from the grill served on wooden platters – delicious!

With their EAT LOVE project, which formed part of the Vienna Biennale for Change 2021, the Vienna Business Agency and the MAK presented creative and sustainable solutions related to the food and food spaces of tomorrow. The contributions – selected by a jury that included the festival team – ranged from architecture via design to multimedia and could be seen in the open-air laboratory of the studio mobil / think tank station of uttnext during the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK 2021.
