MIAMIFICATION (RARE) FURNITURE DROP

Bureau Populaire

25.9.–3.10.2020

Bureau Populaire, which sees itself as an artists’ collective, exhibited a collection of furniture at VIENNA DESIGN WEEK that is very consciously positioned at the interface between art and design. At the cocktail party in the Vintage Concept Store Burggasse24, one could admire the stainless steel objects – a table and two shelf modules that are produced in Vienna’s Ottakring District – to a soundtrack provided by the DJs Alexandra Feusi and Titus Probst. Against the background of the music, wine, and a live photo shooting in front of the reflectively shiny furnishings, the two founders of Bureau Populaire also talked about their second shirt collection, which, with its high-quality embroidered image of a 16th-century UFO sighting, oscillates between merchandise, tour shirt, and work of art.
