The architectural guided tours offered by Marion Kuzmani (ARCH ON TOUR) during VIENNA DESIGN WEEK have been a fully-booked success story for years. This year, the architectural expert devoted one of the two formats to Friedrich Achleitner, the author of the historical guide “Österreichische Architektur im 20. Jahrhundert”, upon which Kuzmani’s Meidling tour was largely based. And she also enriched the tour, which started out from the Festival Headquarters, with more recent additions as she invited participants to discover both the classic and hidden architectural jewels of Meidling. The group strolled in brilliant sunshine to such locations as Karl Ehn’s Bebel Hof (1925) and enjoyed an exclusive visit to the interior of a hidden palace in the former Tivoli pleasure grounds in Obermeidling. The tour also led to other VIENNA DESIGN WEEK venues, which lay upon its route, including the mobile office from march gut and the Grätzlhotel.
