A porcelain manufacturer meets 3-­D printing. Based on its successful lamp collection “Pearls,” the Austrian design label NEU/ZEUG presents Surfaces to show how brightly porcelain can shine. The idea behind the newest series is creating a bridge between technologies and setting aes­thetic counterpoints. And so, the precision of 3­-D printing, with which delicate structures can be created in a way similar to a drawing pen, are juxta­ posed with hand­molded sur­faces of bone china. This is the creation process of the finely illuminated objects that will be on view during the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK in the form of the installation at Vienna’s design studio Lucy.D – home of the creative team behind NEU/ZEUG.
