With tours and talks on lighthouse projects relating to building design, the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK focuses each year on selected themes in the transitional areas of design and architecture. For example, the highly popular tour with Hermann Czech began at the Bridge Club, an apartment Loos arranged for Emil Löwenbach in 1913. The stroll then progressed from daytime to night life – from Czech’s legendary Wunder-Bar to his Kleines Café and the former Immervoll, then to Adolf Loos’ American Bar. After a rare opportunity to examine the interior of the Looshaus on Michaelerplatz, participants ended their walk at Cin Cin Buffet, Hermann Czech’s latest architectural masterpiece. Hermann Czech guided the participants in person, supported by festival moderator Marion Kuzmany.
