TEASER: DOING NOTHING WITH AI – A NEUROREACTIVE ROBOTICS INSTALLATION
Emanuel Gollob
28.9.–7.10.2018
One of the stars in the Kenyon-Pavillon: a foam-suited robot with a waving mane of hair that expresses idleness, which is often frowned upon. Emanuel Gollob’s installation linked a wide variety of areas, from the default mode network in the human brain to machine learning to robotic choreographies in an attempt to do justice to the state of absolute inactivity in the cerebrum. Together with Magdalena May, Gollob’s working to create a space for inactivity and introspection – in this case, an installation that can be understood as a terpsichorean commentary on inaction, a robotic statement on the currently prevailing habitus of constant activity.
