As a complement to the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK’s focus on protest, the concluding workshop series of the Business Riot Festival, which was also held at the Festival Headquarters, thematized feminist perspectives in digital innovations and technologies. In her keynote, Jessica Sanchez, as a representative of 1 Million Women to Tech, told the incredible success story of the initiative, which currently trains 20,000 women around the world as software developers. What responsibility actors of digital progress have, how gender equality can be shaped for the future, and how much power concepts of the future possess – all this was discussed afterward by the experts Janina Loh and Jessica Sanchez. This also provided important inspiration in sync with the festival’s desire for synergy.
