Spectacles are necessary. In the past, amusements were elementary parts of our daily lives. Then came the rigid division into work and leisure time. At present, we’re facing increasing intertwining of real and virtual worlds due to growing digitalization. The demand for spectacles is by all accounts loud. Together with sound:frame, VRVienna hosted the final mini conference, where the artists whose works shown by sound:frame discussed with other experts from the fields of extended reality the question of the dramaturgical transition from real exhibition space to virtual reality, outlined selected approaches between escapism and open-world experience, and considered various staging and narrative control elements.
