FOOD DESIGN & KITCHEN HACKING

New Design University (NDU) St. Pölten

29.9.–8.10.2017

What do a piece of meat in the shape of a cat and a dinner table have in common with a seesaw? That’s right. Both could be part of our daily life in 2040. They could! Bachelor degree students worked on ideas and products relating to the culture of cooking and eating, the kitchen space, and cooking utensils, tableware and tools – visionary, speculative, and critical projects that approach the theme from the standpoints of ritual and culture. On show were prototypes, design studies, and concepts, as well as processes yielding discoveries and inventions.
