Culture, The World, The Robot. Allegorical ceramic figurines populated a glaring-white miniature-sculpture park at the Festival Headquarters South on Sparkassaplatz, each one creating a variety of artistic references relating to the products of the Austrian company with a Swiss parent. To be brief: LAUFEN’s gift to the festival audience for its 125th birthday was intended as a noteworthy multipart who’s who of the design scene. The end result – curated by Beda Achermann – were sculptures by Benjamin Dillenburger and Michael Hansmeyer, Flag, Stefano Giovannoni, Konstantin Grcic, Alfredo Häberli, Toan Nguyen, Nissen Wentzlaff, Atelier oï, Ludovica + Roberto Palomba, Patricia Urquiola, Peter Wirz, and Studio Achermann.
