Light play of an extraordinary kind was promised by design:mikimartinek in the
Dotzauer Kristalleuchten showroom. “For love of light” the Austrian firm has for more than fifty years been producing chandeliers for the stateliest hotels, villas, and palaces across the world – a glamor factor which of course simply had to have a place at Austria’s greatest design festival. During the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK, in the inner-city branch Dotzauer and design:mikimartinek presented new chandelier forms, providing a view of current production developments
from the in-house crystal and glass manufacture.
The range of scintillatingly beautiful objects in the middle of the room included
everything from organic-evocative luminaires to harmoniously undulating lamps of delicate gauze. The dazzling stars of the presentation however were quite clearly the luxurious crystals from the house of Dotzauer themselves.
