Within the framework of the cooperation between design> new strategies of the MAK and the Vienna Business Agency, creative center departure, the StadtFabrik (City Factory), a real-time research lab curated by the IDRV – Institute of Design Research Vienna, has been investigating new task areas
in the creative industries. The key focus is on the discovery of future urban potential and making it transparent in a city that is in a state of upheaval.
This continues the approaches of the project “2051: Smart Life in the City”
originating during the VIENNA BIENNALE 2015 and develops the idea of demonstrators – experimental set-ups in the urban space. Weekly walk-in
hour to discuss where things stand – with spontaneous determination of topics and opportunities for participation.
