The exhibition POSSIBLE TOMORROWS presents a selection of experimental and technical applications from the fields of biotechnology and synthetic biology in the design context. Contributions from selected designers and artists show speculative areas of application and ideas as well as already tested implementations for the design and material culture of today: cement formed of microorganisms or fruit-bearing useful plants with textile-producing roots. Is synthetic biology the industrial design of tomorrow? What other applications will the future offer?
