PIEDECK: INVISIBLE WALLS

FH Oberösterreich – Campus Hagenberg

6.10.2016, 3pm

When real and virtual worlds merge. PIEdeck,
the experimental interaction space developed
by the research group Playful Interactive
Environments (PIE) consists of a large-scale projection, multiple virtual reality headsets, and a sensitive laser tracking system from the technology forge of the Ars Electronica Futurelab in Linz. Up to 25 persons can move simultaneously in the space, affect it, thus entering into virtual and real interaction. In this way, the PIEdeck application INVISIBLE WALLS especially created for the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK focuses on the theme of interpersonal distances – INVISIBLE WALLS – between the actors. Visitors can find out more on the installation design in a knowledge sharing session with students on site. In the accompanying talk also provides an opportunity for delving deeper into the theme of co-located interactive spaces.
