The fusion of digital production with traditional handicraft enables the manufacture of simple and sensuous objects with proactive user integration. A deliberate reference to frugal design visually and haptically supports the applied technology – without placing the objects a priori to the fore, but in order to integrate them discreetly into the respective space. The standard lamp on display combines steel elements made in 3D printing with handcrafted walnut components. The lamp design can be freely configured, using the available materials of steel, ceramic, plastic, wood, aluminum, and brass.
